Description
Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney has eight beehives on its level three rooftop, where the honey is naturally
harvested and hand spun, without heat treatment. The hotel’s colony of bees is a sustainable take
on the farm to table and slow food movement. The urban colony of bees produce a unique flavour
of honey due to Sydney’s exotic collection of trees and flowers, and The Rocks has proven to be the
perfect playground for Shangri-La’s bees. The house-made honey is for sale at the Lobby Lounge for
$7.00 in a tube and $16.00 in a jar.
